
Supply and installation of solar water pumping systems for 5 valley dams
The scope of the job was installing a solar powered water pumping and distribution system from the already existing dam to cattle water troughs.
The specific tasks included;
- Installation of a solar water pumping system which included a solar water pump, submersible water pump sleeve, water suction assembly, installation of solar panels and structures
- Installation of a water distribution system. From the solar water pump in the valley tank, to an overhead tank and then to the cattle water troughs
- Installation of the auxiliary solar lighting systems
- Testing and commissioning of the systems
These were part of the works under the Regional Pastoral Livelihoods Resilience Project (RPLRP) which is implemented by the Government of Uganda under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries MAAIF. The major objective of RPLRP is to increase livestock production through increased access to water for livestock.
